Bayern Striker Harry Kane Clinches Bundesliga Top Scorer Title

0

Bayern striker Harry Kane, scored 36 goals in the Bundesliga this season, becoming the top scorer despite missing the last two games due to a back injury. With England set to kick off their Euro 2020 campaign against Serbia on June 16, concerns were raised about Kane’s fitness. However, national team coach Gareth Southgate reassured fans that Kane’s injury is not serious, saying, “Kane is feeling good and relaxed. We believe it was a sensible decision not to rush him back for the last games.”

Southgate announced a provisional 33-man squad for the Euros, which includes Kane and Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid. Players like Bayern’s Eric Dier and Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho did not make the cut. Southgate explained the omission of Dier, stating, “He has performed well for Bayern, but we feel he is slightly behind other players we have selected based on our evaluations.” Notable absentees from the squad also include Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford.

England will face Denmark on June 20 and Slovenia on June 25 in the group stage. Before heading to their Euro 2020 base in Blankenhain, the team will play friendly matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 3 and Iceland on June 7. Despite some key absences, Southgate remains confident in his squad’s abilities as they gear up for the Euros.
