Eintracht Frankfurt is almost complete now. Robin Koch and Willian Pacho arrived in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday. The two defenders had an extended vacation due to their national team duties in early July – Koch with Germany at the Euros and Pacho with Ecuador at the Copa América. The only player left to join the team is French talent Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, who is still at the U19 Euros.
On Saturday morning, the players hit the pitch for their first training session. Robin Koch, eager to get started, was the first one on the field, showcasing his skills and scoring a goal with ease. The focus was on passing drills and playing out from the back under pressure, with coach Dino Toppmöller providing guidance and feedback.
With the defensive line now complete with the return of Aurèle Amenda from rehab training, the coach is relieved. Eintracht struggled defensively in their last match, a 2-1 win against FC Juarez, prompting Toppmöller to acknowledge the need for improvement. The team will have a chance to show progress in their next test against FC Louisville on Tuesday.
