Milan Set to Sign Strahinja Pavlovic as Defensive Reinforcement Soon

0

Strahinja Pavlovic’s transfer to AC Milan is on the verge of completion, as the final barriers from RB Salzburg have been overcome. The Serbian defender has remained steadfast in his desire to join the Rossoneri, successfully fending off interest from other international clubs. Pavlovic, who has experienced the thrilling atmosphere of San Siro during two Champions League matches—once as an opponent of Milan and another against Inter—looks forward to the upcoming derby with a different mindset.

Throughout the negotiating process, Pavlovic communicated his wish to leave Austria for a more ambitious adventure with Milan, which the club anticipated. The Rossoneri are ready to make their second summer signing, and the deal is expected to be finalized for a total fee around €20 million, incorporating various bonuses. This is significantly lower than Salzburg’s initial asking price. As part of his contract, Pavlovic will earn €1.5 million per season, which is more than double his current salary.

This signing aligns with Milan’s summer strategy, as the club has already acquired key players like Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Daijiro Reijnders for similar fees. Pavlovic’s arrival provides a reliable option in defense, given his left-footedness, physical strength, and ability to defend in open play—qualities that complement the team’s existing central defenders.

As Pavlovic prepares to head to Milan, Malick Thiaw is also being considered for a possible role as his partner. Milan is awaiting an improved bid from Newcastle, which is projected to be in the range of €35-40 million. However, Milan’s defensive reshaping doesn’t end there; they are also aiming to finalize a deal for Emerson Royal.

To solidify their squad, Milan needs to agree on a fee with Tottenham, as they have offered €15 million for Emerson, which is expected to be accepted. The need for this signing has intensified following Alessandro Florenzi’s injury, which has left Milan short on the flanks. Emerson, who has had varying amounts of game time under Tottenham’s coaches, has made 101 appearances since joining the Premier League, showcasing his experience.

Additionally, Milan is eyeing Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco. Fofana has already expressed his commitment to Milan despite a lucrative offer from West Ham, and he is set to return to Monaco on August 10 unless an agreement is reached swiftly. Meanwhile, negotiations for another potential target, Lazar Samardzic, are ongoing.

Overall, AC Milan’s summer transfer strategy is shaping up to bolster their squad, combining careful budget management with smart acquisitions to enhance their prospects for the upcoming season.
