Jeff Chabot (26) has officially said goodbye to the fans of Cologne. The defender is set to join VfB Stuttgart! According to BILD, Chabot will sign a contract until 2028 with the Champions League participant. He is undergoing a medical check in Stuttgart today, with Cologne receiving a fee of around 4.5 million euros for his transfer.

The move was no surprise as VfB’s interest was reported back in April. Chabot, with a market value of 9 million, had caught the attention of several clubs including Hoffenheim, Gladbach, Freiburg, and Frankfurt. Ultimately, Stuttgart won the bidding war against TSG Hoffenheim for his signature. Chabot, also known as “Bouncer,” bid farewell to Cologne earlier and expressed gratitude to the fans for their support.

Despite seeking new challenges, Chabot acknowledged the impact of his time at Cologne and promised to carry the club in his heart. His decision to join VfB means he will play in the Champions League next season, alongside promising talent Justin Diehl (19), who was also snatched by Stuttgart from Cologne. The transfer signifies the end of an era for Cologne, with Chabot’s departure underscoring a missed opportunity for the club in securing a higher fee through his release clause.
