“FC Bayern defender Min-jae Kim struggles”

0

Min-jae Kim (27), the defender for FC Bayern, has been struggling to meet expectations this season, making frequent mistakes that have led to public criticism. Kim recently spoke about his struggles, mentioning that his style of play clashes with what is required at Bayern, causing inner conflicts. Despite his 50 million Euro transfer from Napoli in the summer, Kim has struggled in Bayern’s defense, notably in the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid where Bayern drew 2-2.

During the first leg, Kim lost track of Vinícius Júnior, allowing him to score Reals’ opening goal, and later fouled Rodrygo, resulting in a penalty and Vinícius scoring again. Even coach Thomas Tuchel labeled Kim’s defensive play as “too eager.” Kim expressed regret for his performance, admitting his shortcomings. In the return fixture, Kim was substituted in the second half while Bayern was leading 1-0, but Real turned the game around, winning 2-1 and knocking Bayern out.

Despite being given another chance in the game against VfL Wolfsburg (which Bayern won 2-0), Kim appeared hesitant and struggled to perform with full conviction. An ankle injury caused him to miss the last game against TSG Hoffenheim, where Bayern lost 4-2. Kim acknowledged it was a disappointing season for him personally and emphasized the need to learn from his mistakes and improve in the coming season, hoping to show better performances in the future for Bayern.
