Paulo Fonseca Leads Race for AC Milan Coaching Job

0

Paulo Fonseca is at the top of Milan’s list for their next head coach. After considering him as an alternative to Julen Lopetegui, the club sees him as a promising candidate. Fonseca, currently coaching Lille, is a frontrunner for the San Siro bench. Although it’s likely he will join Milan in July, the club is open to exploring other options as well.

The official appointment of Fonseca may not happen until the end of the Serie A season. Milan has been evaluating several coaches including Lionel Scaloni, the World Cup-winning coach of Argentina, and Marcelo Gallardo from River Plate. The decision-making process involves key figures at Casa Milan, such as Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Aside from Fonseca, other names considered by Milan include Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel. While some coaches have shown interest, others like Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri don’t align with Milan’s vision. The club aims to finalize their decision by the end of the month as they seek a coach who can work with their young squad and compete in the Champions League next season.
