Napoli Set for Busy Final Days of Transfer Market with Lukaku and McTominay

0

Napoli is gaining momentum as the transfer window approaches its final days. The club is working to resolve image rights issues for Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to undergo medical tests at Villa Stuart tomorrow. If everything goes according to plan, he could be included in the squad for the upcoming match against Parma on Saturday.

Lukaku won’t be the only player arriving from the Premier League, as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is also set to fulfill another request from coach Antonio Conte by signing midfielder Scott McTominay from Manchester United. The deal for McTominay will cost the club an additional €30 million. He is also expected to have his medical on the same day, with a large crowd of fans anticipated at Villa Stuart. The midfielder is finalizing some details with the Reds before traveling to Rome to meet with De Laurentiis, who just returned from a weekend holiday, to sign his contract with Napoli.

Following these potential signings, Giovanni Manna, the club’s sporting director, will need to focus on player departures. Cheddira has already moved to Espanyol on loan, but Napoli still needs to find new homes for players like Gaetano, Zerbin, Folorunsho, Ngonge, and younger talents Saco, Iaccarino, and Mezzoni. This creates a list of players who need to be sorted out, with some expected to leave the club, which may also have financial benefits.

Currently, Napoli has already spent over €100 million in this transfer window and is eager to finalize deals for players like Gilmour and potentially add a right winger. However, they are yet to sell Victor Osimhen, whose transfer was meant to help fund the club’s market activities. This presents a dilemma that needs a quick resolution, especially with the transfer window closing on Friday. The reported interest from Saudi Arabia does not seem to appeal to the Nigerian striker as things stand.
