The new policy, as outlined in the club’s official statement, aims to provide enhanced protections and benefits beyond current regulations. One of the key features includes an automatic one-year contract extension with the same financial terms for any player whose contract is set to expire during the season in which they become pregnant. This measure ensures financial stability for the players during a critical period.
Additionally, AC Milan will offer assistance with childcare during the hours when athletes are involved in training and matches. The club will also support travel arrangements, including flights and accommodation, for the children of players who have recently given birth or are the main guardians of a child, along with an accompanying adult.
AC Milan’s players will continue to receive standard protections related to maternity, including mandatory pay and support upon returning to work, in accordance with existing FIFA guidelines, collective agreements, and the club’s own regulations.
