After completing secret visits in Portugal and signing a contract for the next two years (with an option), Mehdi Taremi is now getting ready for life in Milan. Recently spotted in the city with Federico Pastorello, the man behind his move to Inter, a photo shared by the agent at a restaurant sparked curiosity. The 31-year-old Iranian striker (signed during the Zhang era) didn’t interact with the team, as they were busy with a post-training barbecue in Appiano. He also didn’t visit the club’s headquarters on Viale della Liberazione. Taremi was in Milan to sort out logistical matters as he has been house-hunting in the area for a few weeks and will need to stay there for a while. The official visits will happen later.
While waiting to see Marko Arnautovic’s future at Inter, Taremi is positioned as a potential new signing. Inter’s sporting director Ausilio, who has been tracking him for months, appreciates Taremi’s ability to play as both a first and second striker. His adaptability makes him a valuable addition to Simone Inzaghi’s squad. The Porto fans, however, are not pleased with the departure of the Iranian forward, who will leave the club for free on June 30th. Taremi’s performance this season has been below par, with only ten goals (six in the league), leaving some fans frustrated and disappointed. The match on Sunday against Sporting will be Taremi’s last game for Porto, in the Portuguese Cup final which ended in a 3-1 victory for Sporting.
