Inter Milan is gearing up to formalize their bid for Argentine defender Tomas Palacios. A meeting is scheduled for tomorrow between the Inter management and representatives from Independiente Rivadavia, where they will present an offer of €6.5 million plus bonuses for the player.
While the deal is still in its early stages, it seems to be more advanced than initially thought. Palacios is eager to make the move to Italy, and Rivadavia’s coach, Martin Cicotello, has been speaking as if the transfer is a done deal. This positive momentum suggests that both clubs will likely find a common ground, especially since they are working within the framework laid out by Inter.
One of the main hurdles in the negotiations has already been cleared, as an agreement between Independiente and Talleres, who owned half of Palacios’ rights, has been reached. If the transfer goes through, it would bolster Inter’s defensive lineup and complete Simone Inzaghi’s squad, ensuring that every position on the field has two players ready to step in. Palacios is expected to serve as the backup to Alessandro Bastoni, filling the role of a left-sided center-back in Inter’s three-man defense.
