After securing funding for Suning in 2021, Oaktree decided to appoint Carlo Marchetti and Amedeo Carassai as independent administrators on Inter’s board. To facilitate the change, the two professionals will soon resign, and an Assembly of shareholders will be called within 20 days to elect the new Inter board. Alongside Carassai and Marchetti, Antonello and Marotta are expected to remain on the board, with additional Oaktree representatives replacing Suning’s current board members.
Born in 1966 in Rome, Amedeo Carassai, a cycling and skiing enthusiast (recently visiting the Svalbard Islands), holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Sapienza University and a Master’s in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management. Having worked at Procter & Gamble and McKinsey & Company, Carassai later transitioned to Syntek Capital and then the London private equity company Apax Partners. He has served on the boards of various Apax portfolio companies, including Sisal, Wind, and Plantasjen.
Born in Milan in 1973, Amedeo Carassai, son of renowned jurist Piergaetano, has been a notary specializing in corporate, financial, and banking law since 2004. He is a Professor of Comparative Private Law at the University of Milan and serves on the boards of companies like Agrati Group, Colussi, and Goglio. With Marchetti likely to play a significant role in the new Inter setup, his experience and expertise are poised to contribute to the club’s future endeavors.
