Paulo Fonseca is set to make his official debut on the AC Milan bench at San Siro when his side faces Torino tomorrow evening at 20:45 CET. The former Roma coach expressed his positive feelings about the new role, saying, “I have felt very positive from the first day, and today even more so. We are ready, with confidence and great ambition. We want to start playing with our identity to show it to the fans. It was hard to imagine that in just five weeks, I could have such positive feelings. I didn’t expect the players to grasp our ideas so quickly, and I’m very satisfied.”

When asked how Milan would approach the season, Fonseca acknowledges that although there have been significant changes, he is optimistic about their position. “I won’t say we will be in pole position, but we will be close,” he stated. Regarding new signing Fofana, he mentioned the player must first complete a medical examination, but admitted, “It’s no secret that he is coming, and I am happy about it.”

The coach also commented on Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s versatility, noting that the player can operate as a midfielder or attacking midfielder. “We are a very strong and ambitious group, and we are here to win and compete for the Scudetto. With each passing day, I have more confidence in this,” Fonseca added confidently.

He wrapped up his thoughts by indicating that with Fofana’s arrival, he believes the transfer activity is effectively concluded, hinting that some players may need to leave the squad as they already have a full roster.
