Federico Dimarco made a sensational return to the pitch, marking the occasion with a stunning lob from 25 meters out during Inter’s 3-0 victory over Las Palmas. Just three days after arriving back at Appiano, Dimarco stole the show in front of around 13,000 fans at the Manuzzi stadium on a warm July afternoon. After scoring, he opened his arms wide to receive the adoration of the crowd who had come out to support their team.
Inter is welcoming back its key players following their participation in the European Championship. In just a few days, manager Simone Inzaghi has reunited with five of his stars – Dimarco, Davide Frattesi, Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella, and Matteo Darmian – along with Francesco Acerbi, who returned to action in Cesena after recovering from surgery that had kept him from traveling to Germany.
Dimarco came on in the second half and took control of his usual left flank, demonstrating that he is ready for the upcoming season. In just half an hour on the field, he provided a couple of dangerous crosses, made a clever run following a no-look pass from Barella, and capped it off with his impressive goal. “It felt great to smile again,” Dimarco said after the match, acknowledging the hard work that lies ahead. “This year will be long and challenging, and we need to prove ourselves again.”
The target for Inter is clear: to clinch their 21st Serie A title and, if possible, score memorable goals at the iconic San Siro, known as the Scala del Calcio.
