Bruno Garzena, a former defender for Juventus, has passed away at the age of 91 in his home in Turin. Born in Venaria Reale in 1933, Garzena began his football journey at Juventus, joining the youth ranks when he was just 12 years old. He made his debut for the first team during the 1952-53 season.

During his time with the Bianconeri, Garzena enjoyed considerable success, winning two Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia trophies. He had the privilege of sharing the locker room with Juventus legends such as Omar Sivori and Giampiero Boniperti. Known as “the Hawk of Venaria” for his exceptional athletic abilities, he spent the season following his debut on loan at Alessandria, where he made 23 appearances.

After returning to Juventus, Garzena embarked on a long tenure with the club that lasted from 1954 until 1962, interrupted only by a loan spell at Vicenza. Over his career, he made a total of 166 appearances for Juventus and was even called up to the national team in 1958 for a match against Austria, which Italy lost 2-3.

After retiring from football in 1966, Garzena transitioned into a successful business career. In 2010, he returned to the football world when he became the president of Alessandria. His legacy as a devoted player and leader in football will be remembered fondly by fans and teammates alike.
