In a swift move just last night, Atalanta has officially announced the signing of Lazar Samardžić from Udinese. The 22-year-old midfielder joins on a temporary deal that comes with an option to buy, as well as an obligation for a permanent transfer under certain easily achievable conditions. This deal, which includes bonuses, will total around €25 million.

Samardžić, who was born in Germany and grew up in Berlin’s Hertha Berlin youth academy, has made 93 appearances in Serie A, scoring 13 goals and providing 8 assists during his time with Udinese, who had previously signed him from RB Leipzig. Although he won’t be available for the upcoming match against Lecce, he could make his debut next week in Turin.

But Atalanta isn’t stopping here; reports suggest that next on their wishlist is Wesley, a Brazilian winger arriving from Flamengo for a fee of €16 million plus bonuses. The club continues to be active in the transfer market, with eyes on the situations of players like Lookman and Koopmeiners, while El Bilal is likely headed to Stuttgart.
