UD Las Palmas celebrated their end-of-season dinner last night with plenty of smiles after securing their spot in the league. It was a farewell for Sergi Cardona and García Pimienta, among others. Club president, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, thanked Pimienta for his hard work over the past two and a half years as head coach, praising him as the best coach during his presidency: “I am truly grateful to Pimienta, not only for his coaching skills but also for being a great person.”
Ramírez highlighted Pimienta’s achievements in leading the team to the promotion playoffs when it seemed unlikely, as well as securing their league status this season. He expressed his gratitude to the entire coaching staff and players, emphasizing the importance of their dedication and hard work: “When there are honest people who give their all for the club, things tend to work out in the end.” Ramírez also thanked everyone involved in the organization, acknowledging that retaining their league status felt like a promotion for the team.
The president concluded by commending the team’s remarkable efforts throughout the season and expressed his excitement for the upcoming challenges: “I want to thank the coaching staff and players for their fantastic work. As we head into my 20th season, I would gladly sign up for another 20 years in the top flight with the same passion and commitment. It has been a truly spectacular season for us.” (SEO: UD Las Palmas, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, García Pimienta, season, league status, promotion)
