Piotr Zielinski recently opened up about a lucrative offer he received from Saudi Arabia, revealing the thought process behind his decision to turn it down. Speaking to Eleven Sports Poland, the Inter midfielder explained, “Anyone who receives such an offer knows that amounts like this can make one’s head spin.”
He elaborated on the factors that influenced his choice, highlighting the importance of personal goals and family discussions. For some players, financial gain is the main priority, while for others, the chance to compete against the best in the world and test their skills in the Champions League is paramount. “This has been my top priority from the beginning,” he said.
Zielinski admitted that he did ponder the prospect of moving to Arabia, even envisioning a comfortable life there with his loved ones. “For the first two days, I thought, ‘I’m going to Saudi Arabia, I’ll bring my family, and we will live well.’ However, that thought only lasted for two days. I’m happy that it turned out this way and that I didn’t take the offer, even though the money was substantial.” He expressed his contentment with his current situation, stating, “I’m glad to be where I am; I earn well and can compete at the highest levels.”
Speaking about his club, Inter, Zielinski emphasized the team’s ambitions and legacy. “You can see the greatness of this club here. They are a big team, and the goal is always to go as far as possible in every competition. I believe Inter can achieve that, and we will do everything to make this season special.” He is confident that since joining, he has helped the team improve, stating, “Inter was already one of the best teams, and I believe I will demonstrate my capabilities, pushing the team to an even higher level.”
