West Ham Eyes Tammy Abraham as Roma Considers Selling Star Striker

Eyes on the Premier League, and the Premier League on Roma. The interest is mutual, and it seems everyone could end up happy. West Ham, based in Stratford (the area of East London famously linked to William Shakespeare), is reportedly considering a move for Tammy Abraham. While no official offer has been submitted to Roma yet, the club is well aware of West Ham’s admiration for their striker.

The Hammers are in need of an additional forward, and Roma is open to the idea of parting ways with Abraham under certain conditions. Selling him could free up funds for Roma’s transfer director, Florent Ghisolfi, to finalize other deals, beginning with right-back Lorenz Assignon.

Recently, West Ham signed German striker Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund for €30 million but are now looking for another quality forward. After chasing Aston Villa’s John Duran unsuccessfully, they have shifted their focus to Abraham, aiming to form a striking duo that could help them bounce back from last season’s disappointing ninth-place finish in the Premier League.

Roma has Abraham valued at €30 million but is likely to consider a bid of €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses. This money would not only help cover the purchase of Assignon, for whom Rennes is asking €15 million but is reportedly ready to negotiate down to €13 million. Assignon himself has a prior agreement with Roma for a fee of €11 million.

Additionally, a portion of Abraham’s transfer fee could also be allocated for Loic Badé, the Sevilla central defender who recently won a silver medal with France at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Stuttgart has also shown interest in Badé, with a recent offer of €15 million being rejected by Sevilla, who are holding out for €20 million—exactly the other half of what they would stand to gain from the potential sale of Abraham.

Roma’s financial calculations seem to align, though some details would still need to be finalized. There is hope that West Ham will move quickly with their offer. Abraham recently stated, “Transfer gossip is always nice to hear, but I am fully focused on Roma. I want to compete for a spot with Dovbyk.” With Dovbyk being the club’s new Ukrainian striker signed for €30.5 million plus €5.5 million in bonuses, Abraham would likely start as a backup.

During a recent trip to England, Ghisolfi explored interest from other potential English clubs, including Everton and Bournemouth. For now, the focus remains on West Ham making a timely and suitable offer so Roma can complete their transfer plans.
