Udinese Triumphs 2-1 Over Lazio with Goals from Lucca and Thauvin

Udinese celebrated a crucial 2-1 victory over Lazio in their latest Serie A match, thanks to goals from young striker Lorenzo Lucca and experienced winger Florian Thauvin. The win marks a successful home debut for Udinese’s new coach, Runjaic, who looks to build on the team’s recent form.

The match began with Udinese showing a strong intent from the kickoff. Lucca opened the scoring early in the first half, converting a precise cross from Thauvin, which highlighted the home team’s bright start. Although Lazio gradually gained more possession and looked to respond, they came closest to equalizing in injury time, when a last-ditch clearance by Ehizibue denied them a goal after a scramble in the box involving Lucca and Romagnoli.

A tactical change for Lazio saw Patric replacing Casale at the back, but the second half saw Thauvin find the net in the 49th minute. The Frenchman took advantage of defensive mistakes from Lazio to double Udinese’s lead with a left-footed shot just inside the area.

Udinese appeared to have the match under control until the 69th minute when Kamara was sent off after receiving his second yellow card, reducing the home side to ten men. This opened the door for Lazio, who pushed hard for a comeback, with Castellanos and Zaccagni both trying their luck. However, it wasn’t until the very last moments of the game that Lazio managed to score, with Isaksen finding the net in the 94th minute off a rebound from goalkeeper Okoye.

Despite the late goal, Udinese held on for the win, which follows their previous draw against Bologna, enhancing their confidence as they look to build momentum in the league.
