Real Madrid Faces Atalanta in European Supercup Amid Injury Woes

The match will take place at the National Stadium in Warsaw, which is getting ready to host Real Madrid and Atalanta for the UEFA Super Cup. However, Real Madrid will be without Eduardo Camavinga, who suffered a left knee ligament injury during training yesterday. This injury means he will miss not only tonight’s match but also the opening games of La Liga.

Real Madrid is expected to line up in a 4-3-3 formation with Thibaut Courtois in goal, supported by Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, and Ferland Mendy in defense. The midfield will feature Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham, while the attacking trio consists of Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinicius Junior.

On the other hand, Atalanta is likely to adopt a 3-4-1-2 formation. Marco Silvestri will be in goal, with a defensive line made up of Berat Djimsiti, Hien, and Sead Kolasinac. The midfield will include Davide Zappacosta, Marten de Roon, Ederson, and Ruggeri, while Pasalic will provide support to forwards Charles De Ketelaere and Ademola Lookman.

The officiating team for this match features Swiss referee Sandro Scharer, assisted by fellow Swiss officials Stephane De Almeida and Jonas Erni. Ukrainian Mykola Balakin will serve as the fourth official, while German Bastian Dankert will be in charge of VAR.

Atalanta’s coach Gian Piero Gasperini faces some challenges due to the absences of players like Gianluca Scamacca, Nicolò Zaniolo, and Teun Koopmeiners, forcing him to call up young talents from the academy. Recently, Atalanta secured another transfer by signing Marco Brescianini, stepping in after Napoli failed to finalize the deal even after medical checks.

Regarding Koopmeiners, Gasperini lamented the impact of transfer market issues on the player, stating, “It’s unfortunate for Scalvini and Scamacca, but Teun is the real victim here. He’s been affected by market disputes, and my regret is significant. Everything was done to harm Atalanta. I’m not sure what will happen, but he’s a healthy, recoverable player.”

Fans can watch the clash between Real Madrid and Atalanta, which counts for the UEFA Super Cup, live on Sky channels including Sky Sport Uno (201), Sky Sport Calcio (202), Sky Sport 4K (213), and Sky Sport (251), as well as streaming on Sky Go and Now.
