Pisa Dominates Frosinone 3-0 in Coppa Italia; Lecce Beats Mantova 2-1

The 2024-2025 Coppa Italia kicked off on Monday with an impressive performance by Pisa, who secured a 3-0 victory against Frosinone under the guidance of coach Filippo Inzaghi. The first round also saw Lecce edging past Mantova with a late 2-1 win. Later in the evening, Salernitana faced Spezia, while Cagliari was set to battle Carrarese at 21:15.

Pisa took charge early in their match, with goals from Tramoni and Bonfanti putting the team in a strong position by halftime. In the second half, they managed the game effectively and capped off their victory with a late goal from Arena. Pisa will now face Cesena in the next round of the tournament.

Lecce’s match was more dramatic as they faced newly promoted Mantova. They went into halftime with a 1-0 lead thanks to Gaspar’s goal, but in the second half, Mantova’s Bragantini leveled the score. Lecce had a goal by Gaspar disallowed for a handball, but just four minutes from the end, Krstovic scored to secure the victory for Lecce, who will meet Sassuolo in September.
