Milan Signs Emerson Royal from Tottenham: A Summer Transfer Success!

On the day Alvaro Morata was officially presented, Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a statement saying, “God created the world in seven days; we are on number four.” Meanwhile, exciting news emerged from Casa Milan, as Emerson Royal’s transfer was finally confirmed, with the right-back leaving Tottenham to become AC Milan’s third signing of the summer 2024.

The transfer saga had been ongoing for several weeks, filled with back-and-forth negotiations. Initially, Tottenham’s asking price was deemed excessive by Milan, but after further discussions, terms were agreed upon. The final deal, totaling £15 million, wrapped up after some late negotiations regarding performance-related bonuses.

This deal brings joy to the Rossoneri management and coach Paulo Fonseca, as well as to Emerson, who had previously expressed his desire to join the club. The 25-year-old Brazilian is expected to arrive in Milan on Sunday, August 11, with medical examinations scheduled for Monday. Once everything is finalized, he will sign a five-year contract and wear the number 22 jersey, previously held by the legendary Kaká. While their playing styles may differ, Emerson hopes to carry on the legacy associated with the iconic number.
