Lautaro Martinez and Inter Milan have officially confirmed their contract renewal, with the Argentine striker set to stay with the club until 2029. The joy in his words is clear as he expresses pride and gratitude towards the club management and new ownership.
“This means a lot to me; I am very proud and thankful to the directors and the new owners. After six seasons, continuing here means so much for me and my family. I’m extremely happy and eager to keep fighting for significant achievements,” Lautaro stated in an interview with the club’s official channels.
He reflected on his growth during his time in Milan, expressing a desire to keep improving. “I hope to continue growing and surpassing myself, just like I have every single year since I arrived in Milan. I work hard every day to become a better player, teammate, and captain. I always want to give my best. I didn’t expect to be one of the top scorers in Inter’s history, especially considering the many champions who have played here. This shows I’ve done great work, but I want to keep scoring and preparing myself to face challenges in the best way.”
Lautaro also shared insights from his journey. “If I could go back, I would tell my younger self to do exactly the same things: give 100% on the pitch every time, support my teammates on and off the field, always have a positive word, and be an example. I want to continue this way, to bring back beautiful moments for the fans during these six years.”
He noted the personal growth he has experienced, especially after becoming a father, which has had a significant impact on his life as a player. “Becoming a father clicked something in my mind, and for a footballer, family support is crucial. The four legs of the table have to be strong, and I am fortunate to have that.”
Lautaro’s goals are clear and ambitious. “I want to bring more trophies to Inter. On April 22, we all celebrated the second star together; it was a source of pride and joy. We have rightfully made our mark in the club’s history, and this should motivate us to continue fighting for emotions like that and to enrich the trophy cabinet.”
In closing, he expressed gratitude to the fans. “I want to thank all the supporters who have stood by me in difficult and joyful times. Their support makes us feel like we have an extra player on the pitch. It’s an advantage, and I thank them for that, as well as the staff, the directors, and the ownership,” Lautaro concluded.
