Juventus is undergoing a significant transformation, with an ambitious plan to secure two new signings each month. After acquiring Douglas Luiz and Michele Di Gregorio in June, and Khephren Thuram and Juan David Cabal in July, the club is set to step up its efforts in August. The Bianconeri hope to add at least three more players, potentially four if Federico Chiesa is sold before the transfer window closes on August 30.
Cristiano Giuntoli, the club’s sporting director, is expected to remain a key figure in these final days of the transfer period. Having raised nearly €50 million from transfers involving Matias Soulé to Roma and Dean Huijsen to Bournemouth, Juventus is now ready to accelerate its efforts to fine-tune the squad.
While the deal for Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice is progressing, the club is also eyeing Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta and at least one winger. Galeno from Porto is currently the frontrunner, but they are also considering Karim Adeyemi of Borussia Dortmund.
Koopmeiners was a priority last December and still tops the wishlist, especially after Fabio Miretti’s recent injury, which has sidelined him for at least a month due to a fractured bone in his right foot. This setback underscores the need for additional midfield depth, as Giuntoli and manager Thiago Motta have stressed the importance of bringing in Koopmeiners, who scored 15 goals last season.
The club plans to make a concrete offer of around €45 million with bonuses for Koopmeiners, as they look to engage in serious negotiations. The player has shown professionalism at Atalanta and is awaiting Juventus’ first official move, which could lead to discussions based on an agreement made last summer. Atalanta had previously rejected an offer from Napoli for €48 million and promised to sell Koopmeiners this year if the bid was right.
Meanwhile, Galeno has emerged as a primary target for Juventus, aligning technical needs with financial considerations. With Soulé gone and Chiesa’s future uncertain—his contract ends in 2025—the club is keen on adding at least one winger, and possibly two. Giuntoli is keen to explore opportunities with both Galeno and Adeyemi while also considering last-minute loan options, such as Jadon Sancho from Manchester United or Domenico Berardi, who is recovering from injury after Sassuolo’s relegation.
The competition for Galeno and Adeyemi is heating up, with Juventus receiving positive signals from both players’ representatives. However, navigating the transfer from Dortmund is tricky, as the club is valuing Adeyemi between €45-50 million. In contrast, Porto is under pressure to comply with UEFA’s financial fair play regulations, making Galeno’s potential move more feasible, with the asking price currently around €30 million plus bonuses. The coming month promises to be crucial for Juventus as they look to finalize their squad for the new season.
