Italian Clubs Target Young Talents and Experienced Players for Midfield Reinforcements

With an eye firmly on the future, the club is targeting a promising Swiss midfielder from the Under-21 national team, who plays defensively and has already made his first-team debut with Basel. While the interest in Coulibaly is more of a consideration, the Polish midfielder is considered a top priority. At Empoli, he is well-known and highly regarded, and this would be the third time they would bring him in. However, they face competition from PAOK and must negotiate a hefty salary.

The departure of Tessmann leaves a significant gap to fill. Coach Di Francesco is in need of players familiar with Serie A, and the Juventus player fits the bill perfectly, along with Miretti, to strengthen the midfield of a team recently promoted back to the top flight.

Salernitana, needing to sell players, has seen Empoli enter the race for the Malian midfielder who has proven he can perform in Serie A, along with Udinese. Meanwhile, Udinese is looking for a backup goalkeeper for Okoye, with Razvan Sava, currently with Cluj, being a target. Sava has previous experience in Italy, having played for Pro Sesto, Juventus, Lecce, Pescara, and Torino.

In a surprising twist, Genoa has struck a deal for 29-year-old Pierluigi Gollini, who is leaving Atalanta to take over the goalkeeper position at Genoa after Josep Martinez’s transfer to Inter earlier this month. This agreement comes after Gollini’s own move to Monza fell through, as Monza has now reached an agreement with Keylor Navas, who is expected in Italy today. Gollini arrived in Liguria last night and will undergo medical examinations today before signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, giving Genoa a right to buy based on a three-million-euro fee.

Dutch defender Kevin, a former player for Fiorentina and Empoli, is a versatile center-back who can also play as a right or left full-back. The right-back position is one of the areas in Francis’ squad that requires strengthening as he aims to create balanced pairings in every department. Regardless of Hummels’ response, the club is set to acquire a central defender in the coming hours. Jaka Bijol remains the top target, although Udinese is holding firm with an 18 million euro asking price. Others still in consideration include Otavio (Porto), the expensive Sutalo (Ajax seeks 21 million), Oosterwoolde (Fenerbahçe), Balerdi (Marseille), and Logan Costa (Toulouse). As for Rugani? A return could be on the cards if he resolves his contract with Juventus.

Finally, the club is contemplating the potential temporary sale of a forward under certain conditions. Stuttgart has expressed interest in the young striker, providing a promising opportunity for a career revival. However, Touré sees himself as a central striker and is dissatisfied with his limited playing time from the previous season. He desires more game time, making him open to an experience abroad. Stuttgart, however, is currently interested in a straightforward loan deal, which Atalanta is not keen to accept. The key to unlocking this negotiation could be a loan with a conditional obligation to buy (based on appearances, goals) or a right to buy, but likely at a higher fee.
