Inzaghi Without Lautaro Martinez for San Siro Debut Against Lecce Tomorrow

For his first match at San Siro, Simone Inzaghi will be without Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine forward missed the final training session with his teammates due to some discomfort in his adductor muscles. Tomorrow, the situation will be monitored in the hopes of at least having him on the bench if he is fit enough. However, as things stand, he is not expected to be part of the squad for the game against Lecce.

In his absence, Mehdi Taremi is strongly positioned to start alongside Marcus Thuram in the lineup that Inter will put on the pitch tomorrow night. Martinez’s fatigue has been noticeable, especially after participating in the Copa America and returning early from his holiday. Inzaghi had originally planned for him to play only sixty minutes against Genoa, but due to the situation in that match, the coach opted to keep him on the field until the 86th minute, replacing him with Asllani to restore balance to the team for the closing stages. Unfortunately, that decision did not prevent Inter from conceding a late equalizer from Messias in stoppage time.
