Simone Inzaghi is not letting the negative result get to him too much. After all, it was just a friendly match in August. The Inter manager reflected on the team’s performance after their 2-0 defeat to Al Ittihad during a preseason test in Monza. “We started well and created a lot of chances. After the goal, we could have definitely done better, but we lost our shape and sharpness, and we didn’t raise our intensity,” Inzaghi noted.
He reassured fans, stating, “We know we need to improve and we also know where we need to make those improvements.” Inzaghi expressed that he is not surprised by the team’s early-season performance, saying, “All friendlies are steps toward the match on the 17th in Genoa. This year’s preparation is different, more challenging due to the staggered arrivals of new players, but all the guys are showing a great attitude.”
The Nerazzurri will be back in action this Sunday for their final summer friendly against Chelsea in London before kicking off their league campaign against Genoa on the 17th.
