Inter Draws with Chelsea, Coach Inzaghi Sees Positive Progress Ahead

After a thrilling finish, Inter Milan left Stamford Bridge with mixed emotions following their recent friendly against Chelsea. Despite being on the brink of victory, a last-minute equalizer from Ugochukwu denied them a win, leaving the Nerazzurri with a sense of satisfaction at least for holding the English side to a draw.

Coach Simone Inzaghi didn’t dwell on the late heartache; instead, he focused on the positives from the match. “I wasn’t worried after the game against Monza,” Inzaghi said, referring to the defeat to Al Ittihad. “It’s normal to face performance issues during pre-season. Today, we played well, and the players looked sharper compared to a few days ago. This allowed us to play more as a unit, keeping our distances and balance better.”

Inzaghi praised the team’s resilience, noting, “We suffered when we needed to, but I liked that we were always ready to cause problems for Chelsea.” Looking ahead, he emphasized that all preparations are now focused on their Serie A opener against Genoa this Saturday.

“These matches are important steps leading up to Saturday’s game,” he stated. “Genoa is in good form, and the atmosphere surrounding them is full of enthusiasm. We know it will be a very tough challenge.”
