Inter Dominates Las Palmas with a 3-0 Victory in Preseason Friendly

The match concluded without added time, with Inter securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Las Palmas. Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, made a notable substitution, replacing striker Taremi, who received warm applause from the fans at the Manuzzi Stadium, with Quieto. A shift in goalkeeping saw Di Gennaro come on for Martinez.

Inter capitalized on a counter-attack when Dimarco, after gliding past defenders, spotted the goalkeeper off his line and executed a stunning lob to score. Fabio Gonzalez tried to respond for Las Palmas with a compelling long-range strike, but Martinez made a fantastic save, pushing the ball out for a corner.

Inzaghi made further changes, pulling Mkhitaryan and Asllani from the pitch, bringing in Salcedo and Berenbruch. Mkhitaryan had a clear chance to extend Inter’s lead, but his precise shot, set up by Taremi, went just inches wide of the post. A clever pass from Bastoni found Frattesi, who unfortunately shot straight at the keeper when one-on-one.

With a two-goal advantage, Inter comfortably controlled the game’s tempo. Ramirez attempted to get Las Palmas on the score sheet with a long-range effort, but he fired well over. Barella then delivered a beautiful through ball, but the moment was squandered when both Dimarco and Mkhitaryan hesitated and missed the chance.

As the teams took a breather in the scorching heat, Inzaghi introduced fresh legs, replacing Correa, Agoumé, Zielinski, Kamate, Carlos Augusto, and Fontanarosa with Frattesi, Barella, Darmian, Dimarco, Acerbi, and Bastoni. Martinez once again struggled with his distribution, allowing Fabio Gonzalez to intercept, but he was left frustrated when his shot struck the post.

Inter continued to showcase their attacking prowess, with Correa attempting a shot in the penalty area, but it was smartly blocked by Suarez. Las Palmas shuffled their squad significantly, making ten substitutions at half-time as they sought to find a response.

As the second half kicked off, Las Palmas enjoyed their first possession. Sacchi’s whistle blew to signal the teams to return to their dressing rooms at 2-0 in favor of Inter, courtesy of Taremi’s brace. An incisive cross from Fuster was met by Fontanarosa, who adeptly headed it away from Mata.

Inter’s flow was exceptional, as Mkhitaryan combined well with Fontanarosa before setting Taremi up perfectly for his second goal, marking five goals in just three pre-season matches for the Iranian. Following a corner, Zielinski attempted a long-range effort, but his shot drifted wide.

After a brilliant run, Bisseck set Correa free, but his curled shot was directed straight at the goalkeeper Horkas, who managed to deflect it for a corner. The left flank was particularly dynamic for Inter; Carlos Augusto’s low cross just evaded any attacking player as it traveled across the box.

As play continued, Inter kept pressing Las Palmas. A mix-up at the back nearly cost Inter again, but Martinez was rescued by his defense. Taremi was relentless and found the net once more with a straightforward shot, marking his fourth goal of the warm-up matches.

Inter’s attacking momentum didn’t stop; they executed another good transition that saw Mkhitaryan serve a pass to Carlos Augusto, whose shot went high. As the match progressed, concern arose for Asllani, who remained down after a challenge but managed to leave the pitch on his own.

Inter’s high pressing paid off when they regained possession near the opposition’s box. However, a misplaced pass from Correa halted the chance of another goal.

This match took place at the Orogel Stadium – Dino Manuzzi, the home ground of Cesena, which has a capacity of around 21,000. This outing marked Inter’s third friendly of the season ahead of their opening match against Sevilla on August 16, after purchasing goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Las Palmas earlier this summer.
