Figc Assembly Set for Nov 4 to Discuss Statute Changes and Elections Delay

On November 4, a significant assembly will be held to modify the federal statutes of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). The Federal Council has also decided to delay the assembly for the election of the FIGC president, which was originally scheduled for the same date. President Gabriele Gravina commented on this shift, stating, “The postponement of the elections does not affect my potential re-election. We will respect the Mulè amendment, and my reserve will be lifted once the new rules are finalized.”

Gravina expressed his concerns about the approach being taken: “I have the feeling that there is a lot of numerical work being done, but it is a superficial approach to the real needs of football. I don’t see any tensions with the new numerical composition that will emerge; that is not the problem. We must all be convinced that Italian football does not have a numerical issue, but it requires contributions from everyone to solve the various challenges we face.”

This upcoming assembly and the discussions around it indicate a pivotal moment for Italian football, where the focus is not just on regulations but on a collective effort to address the broader issues within the sport.
