Attention readers: It’s time to set your countdowns for the new football season! You have until 18:29 on August 17, just one minute before kickoff of the Serie A, with Genoa facing Inter in the opening match. Along with the new season, the Fantacampionato by Gazzetta dello Sport is back, filled with exciting updates, prizes, and games for participants. This year, the prize pool exceeds €300,000.
For the first time, participants can purchase a coach for their fantasy team. The most expensive option is Simone Inzaghi, who costs 24 credits, followed closely by Antonio Conte at 23 credits and Gian Piero Gasperini at 22. Paulo Fonseca and Thiago Motta also make the top five, both priced at 20 credits.
Joining is easy: just visit fantacampionato.gazzetta.it and choose between a full subscription or a pro subscription. The full subscription allows you to create one fantasy team, while the pro subscription lets you create three teams and access all other games and G+ content.
Apart from the familiar stars and players that have risen in value compared to last year—like Yildiz, Soulè, Buongiorno, and Bellanova—there are several new faces to consider. The most costly newcomer is Álvaro Morata at 73 credits, returning to Serie A after a successful stint with Atlético Madrid and captaining the Spanish national team in the Euros. AC Milan is counting heavily on him, along with Pavlovic (26 credits) and Emerson Royal (28 credits).
Inter, the reigning champions, have strengthened their squad with players like Taremi (46 credits), Zielinski (37 credits), and the backup goalkeeper Josep Martinez, who is available for just one credit. The two Roman clubs have also made several signings: AS Roma added Soulè, Dovbyk (54 credits), and Le Fée (26 credits), while Lazio has brought in Noslin (38 credits), Tchaouna (28 credits), Castrovilli (25 credits), Dele-Bashiru (20 credits), and Nuno Tavares (16 credits). Both Noslin and Tchaouna had impressive personal seasons with Verona and Salernitana.
Thiago Motta’s team also welcomed two strong midfielders, Douglas Luiz (38 credits) and Khéphren Thuram (28 credits), while Retegui has moved from Genoa to Atalanta to cover for Scamacca’s injury, with a price of 54 credits. Bologna has successfully signed the “new Zirkzee,” Dutch striker Thijs Dallinga, available for 40 credits after scoring 37 goals in the last two seasons with Toulouse.
The most expensive player in Fantacampionato is Lautaro Martínez, costing 92 credits. Following him are Victor Osimhen (90 credits), as he is still recognized as Napoli’s forward, and Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus (88 credits). Other notable forwards include Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (72 credits), Paulo Dybala (71 credits), and Rafael Leão (70 credits). Former midfielders Charles De Ketelaere (45 credits) and Federico Chiesa (49 credits) have been reclassified as forwards this year. In midfield, Inter’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu leads with a value of 54 credits after scoring 13 goals last season, followed by Teun Koopmeiners (52 credits), who is on Juventus’ radar.
In terms of goalkeepers, the most expensive is Yann Sommer (42 credits), followed by Mike Maignan (40 credits) and Ivan Provedel and Alex Meret (both at 37 credits). In defense, Theo Hernandez tops the list at 42 credits, with Dimarco close behind at 41 credits. Bellanova has also made a name for himself after an exceptional season, valued at 32 credits.
In addition to the usual head-to-head matches and daily prizes, there will be an opening tournament (from Matchdays 1 to 5), General Ranking (from Matchdays 6 to 38), Gazzetta Cup (starting from Matchday 10, with participation from the first 20,000 teams in the General Ranking), and the second half of the season (from Matchday 20 to 38). Remember, each fantasy manager can also participate in other games like Fanta Duello, Fanta 5, and Fantamarket until the end of the transfer window.
