Federico Chiesa finds himself at a crossroads as he looks for a new club after being deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus. Both the club and coach Thiago Motta have suggested he seek a new opportunity, yet Chiesa is struggling to find interested teams willing to meet his financial demands and the transfer fee set by Juventus.
There’s no question about Chiesa’s talent, but his current salary of €5 million plus bonuses, and his future demands of at least €6 million, are putting potential suitors off. The player’s agent, Fali Ramadani, recently approached AC Milan and AS Roma to explore possible deals. However, Roma has made recent investments and is not considering Chiesa, while Milan is cautious about destabilizing their squad dynamics by bringing in another high earner alongside Rafael Leão.
Both Napoli and Lazio have also expressed interest, with Ramadani having visited Rome, but again, Chiesa’s salary remains a significant hurdle. Thus far, there have been no irresistible offers from foreign clubs either. Juventus is asking between €15 million to €20 million for Chiesa, but with his contract running until 2025, they realize they do not have much leverage in negotiations.
In a strategic move, Juventus omitted Chiesa from their recent in-house match, reiterating that he does not fit into their plans. The club appears to be pressuring him to finalize a transfer, warning that if he is not sold by the end of the summer transfer window on August 30, he may not be called up for matches until the January transfer period. The situation has turned into a tense standoff as both sides navigate the complexities of the transfer market.
