Bologna Keeps Busy with Rafting as They Await Hummels’ Decision

It was a day off for the team, but it was anything but quiet as Bologna remained active in the transfer market. The club is awaiting a response from Mats Hummels, a prominent player who is now available on a free transfer after leaving Borussia Dortmund.

This morning, most of the squad took part in a unique team-building experience that involved a hike and rafting, located about an hour away from Valles. A few players, including Karlsson, were absent, alongside head coach Vincenzo Italiano and the coaching staff. Training sessions on the pitch will resume tomorrow with a double session planned, and some of the new signings, including Swiss players Aebischer, Ndoye, and Freuler, participated in their first light training after the post-Euro 2024 break.

As they wait for news on Hummels, Bologna is also exploring other options to strengthen their squad. The club’s management, which includes sporting director Sartori, who stayed back in Bologna, and CEO Fenucci, along with director Di Vaio present in Valles, remain hopeful for a positive update soon. If Hummels isn’t an option, potential alternatives are being considered, including Bijol, Sutalo, Otavio, Balerdi, and even Rugani. The club’s determination to enhance their roster continues as they look ahead to the upcoming season.
