Today, the 13th Charity Paddle Tennis Tournament organized by Fundación Clínica Menorca took place at Ciudad de la Raqueta. The event aimed to raise funds for breast cancer awareness. Former top athletes like Iker Casillas, Raúl González, and others participated in the tournament. The winning duo was Raúl González and Dani García Lara.
Many of the players have ties to Real Madrid and discussed Toni Kroos’ surprising retirement decision. Casillas, who played with Kroos, praised the German midfielder for his impact and popularity among fans. Despite Kroos’ departure, Casillas believes Real Madrid will continue to thrive as it has in the past when other key players left the club.
Casillas also mentioned the upcoming Champions League final, suggesting that while Real Madrid is favored, Borussia Dortmund has earned their spot in the final. He also expressed his support for Thibaut Courtois as the team’s starting goalkeeper, acknowledging the role played by backup goalkeeper Lunin. Alfonso Pérez and Luis Milla also thanked Kroos for his contributions to the team and wished him well in his future ventures.
