Giorgi Mamardashvili’s Future Uncertain Before Euro 2020

Giorgi Mamardashvili is eager to find out where he will be playing next as the Euro 2020 approaches. The Valencia goalkeeper may be on his way to Newcastle United for a reported 35 million pounds (41 million euros), although the deal is still in negotiation. Mamardashvili reveals that he was close to joining Bayern Munich last summer for the same price, but the move did not materialize.

Valencia has already secured the signing of Dimitrievski on a free transfer from Rayo Vallecano ahead of Mamardashvili’s potential departure. They are also eyeing Tenerife’s Juan Soriano as a replacement. Mamardashvili, in an interview with Geo Team, his home country’s media outlet, expressed that his focus is on the upcoming Euro 2020 with Georgia. He acknowledges Valencia’s right to set a high transfer fee for him.

The Georgian goalkeeper is grateful to Valencia for providing him with the platform to kickstart his career. Mamardashvili is eager to resolve his future quickly so he can concentrate on representing his country at the Euros. Last year, he came close to moving to Bayern Munich but the German club did not meet Valencia’s asking price. Mamardashvili is determined to stay focused on his performances despite the ongoing transfer talks surrounding him.
