“Emotional tribute to Jagoba Arrasate with 860 scarves”

After Osasuna’s coach Jagoba Arrasate announced he would be leaving the team, a fan group called La Rana Rojilla decided to honor him in a special way. They created 860 scarves in tribute to Arrasate, featuring a design inspired by a similar one made for Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp. Each scarf carries a message in Spanish and Basque thanking Arrasate for his six seasons with the team. The scarves were distributed at the recent game against Villarreal, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Iker Sesma, a member of La Rana Rojilla and the brain behind the scarf idea, is also involved in a documentary series about former Osasuna players. The scarves were initially intended for the first home game after Arrasate’s announcement, with a total of 340 handed out at the Valencia match. The remaining scarves were given away during the game against Real Betis, with around 80 left to be sold at the final match of the season against Villarreal.

By creating these scarves, the Osasuna fans express their gratitude to Arrasate for his leadership over the years. The scarves have become a symbol of respect and appreciation for the departing coach, marking a significant moment in the club’s history. It’s a touching gesture that reflects the deep bond between the fans and their beloved team, ensuring that Arrasate’s legacy will be remembered for years to come.
